About
Lioba Brückner is a renowned artist based in Oberhausen, Germany, born in 1988 and also a long-standing member of the Bad Apple Artist Collective. She is recognized for her innovative fusion of fantasy art with the aesthetic sensibilities of ancient historical art. Her work is a blend of the evocative murals of ancient Egypt and the ornate details reminiscent of Gustav Klimt’s work. Lioba started her artistic career as an oil painter but has since expanded her repertoire, developing a distinctive mixed-media approach. Her evolution represents a blend of the traditional depth and texture found in oil painting with the versatility and dynamism of watercolors, color pencils, acrylics, and other materials. This innovative technique is not just a testament to her mastery of her craft but also reflects her commitment to pushing the boundaries of her artistic expression. As Lioba continues to refine her skills and explore new themes, her work remains a dynamic experiment to the power of combining historical influences with contemporary fantasy.
In addition to her artwork, Lioba also extends her passion for art through education. She shares her expertise with a vibrant community of over 400 students on Patreon and teaches online live courses approximately three times a year. These courses offer a unique opportunity for students to engage with Lioba's creative process and learn firsthand from her expertise. Through her teaching, Lioba seeks to bridge the gap between traditional artistry and modern techniques, empowering a new generation of artists to explore and develop their own creative voices.
Lioba used to show her work in galleries, but she stopped because her collectors found her online. Now she is able to connect with them directly, which has allowed her to build a loyal following of collectors who appreciate her unique style and innovative techniques. Through social media and her website, she can showcase her artwork to a larger audience and control its distribution, ensuring that her collectors receive a personalized experience when purchasing her pieces. By establishing direct relationships with her collectors, Lioba can focus on her artistic practice and maintain a strong connection with her audience, which shows her commitment to her craft and passion for art.
