In the simplest terms Lioba has given me back the greatest gift imaginable, she’s taught me how to have fun with my art again.
For too long I’ve been stuck, struggling to even start a piece of work, let alone finish it because I’ve felt restricted or limited by old rules or not knowing the right processes but Lioba’s techniques and approach to mixed medium has provided me with a clear path to not only create beautiful artwork, but she’s also given me the tools and most importantly CONFIDENCE to create the artwork I want to make long after this course has ended, using my taste, my materials, and my style to the best of my ability. I don’t think she’s fully aware of how generous her course has been. There is no gate keeping here, no trade secrets, it’s all straight talking, helpful, honest advice.
Lioba is an experienced and gifted artist who not only truly knows how to paint, she knows how everything works, what doesn’t work, why it doesn’t work and is willing to EXPERIMENT. She has saved me so much time figuring out this stuff on our behalf. And for that I am so grateful. Plus she’s a really nice person as well. As someone who has taken a number of courses with teachers who promise results but can’t deliver just because their experience isn’t up to standard or they just won’t invest the time in following up with their students, you can see from the standard of Liobas work that she knows what she’s talking about and the community she’s built is equally as supportive and eager to see you succeed. Buzzing with enthusiasm and genuinely really interested in her students I challenge you to not learn something from her. She’s truly amazing! Thank you!!

I love Lioba’s classes so much, I've attended several so far. They are a great opportunity to learn a lot and have fun. She is a very interesting and caring teacher, every time I’ve participated in a live lesson, I’ve improved a lot. You can ask lots of questions and she will help you understand and improve. She always chooses interesting models to paint and shows different techniques. Her classes are like an adventure. I have attended four online courses and I'm about to attend a fifth one. I'm also a member of Lioba's Patreon. I have learned so many valuable things with Lioba, and my art has elevated I could say even totally changed. Lioba is a wonderful teacher that shares with us her knowledge and she is always willing to help us when we face difficulties. I love that she teaches us how to use AI and technology to help us with our art. This is amazing. We have a wonderful private Facebook group in which we share various tips and information about art. After all the things I have learned with Lioba, I feel a lot more confident with my art and a lot more inspired to do new things! I found Lioba on Instagram many years ago. I was delighted to find by happy accident that she was offering a live guided art workshop from start to finish. Participating was a great kickstarter for me to awaken my dormant art practice. I learned so much by watching and participating live. Lioba takes questions as she goes along and her commentary is great I really enjoyed this workshop and would gladly do another.

The four week Mixed Media Portrait Course with Lioba was an amazing and such fun experience! Apart from being a fantastic artist, she is a very good and patient teacher, always communicating with her students and super friendly at that. The course was clear and very interesting to follow, with Lioba giving us tips and tricks up her artistic sleeve how to make beautiful, harmonious, dreamy yet realistic portraits. I am particularly thankful to her for the critique session at the last lesson, where she analyzed our paintings one by one and gave us valuable advice on how to improve and make things even better. It was an honor and a pleasure to be able to learn from such a talented and friendly artist. If there is a chance again I will definitely do another course with Lioba and I am absolutely recommending her to anyone interested.
I really think that following a portrait course from Lioba is very helpful. You get your own personal critique and this has helped me so much to grow as an artist. Sometimes you are blind to your own mistakes and she helps you see them and learn from them. I would totally recommend following a course from her!

I had such a great time doing the course with Lioba! We learned not only about how to paint a portrait, but also how to mix different skin tones or approach things like cloth or flowers.
I would definitely recommend her course to every one who is interested in watercolour/ mixed media portraits, even if you are a beginner artist. She is a really friendly teacher and answers all the questions during and after the lessons. Thanks a lot again!

This four week course with Lioba was such a fun learning experience. As an artist that works primarily in acrylics and oil I was excited to use my art supplies that I have had for years but rarely gravitate towards. I learnt many techniques that I will put towards my future paintings. Lioba was so welcoming and easy to understand, willing to answer any of our questions it was a joyful experience. I have since gone back to the lessons a few times to work on different portrait pieces using her advice, and cementing it in my brain. I would most definitely recommend her classes, even if you already consider yourself good at art. There is always something to learn. I look forward to Lioba’s future classes.

Lioba's watercolor class was truly an amazing experience! I learned so much from her technique and talents. This was my first ever watercolor class, and I was blown away by what I was able to create.
