Book Cover & Publishing Illustration

Traditional fantasy illustration for book covers, deluxe editions, endpapers and special publishing projects.

I create atmospheric, traditionally painted artwork for books, special editions, and publishing projects, with a particular focus on fantasy, character-driven imagery, and richly detailed storytelling.

My publishing work includes book cover illustration, deluxe-edition artwork, endpapers, and more. I love working on projects where visual storytelling, character, symbolism, and world-building come together in a single image.

The Curse Carved in Ink - Book Cover Illustration

For The Curse Carved in Ink by Tzeyi Koay, I created the book cover artwork.

The illustration was developed to capture the atmosphere, characters, and emotional tone of the story while creating an image that would feel striking both as a standalone artwork and as part of the finished book design.

This project allowed me to combine my traditional mixed-media painting approach with narrative illustration and publishing design.

Once Upon a Broken Heart Series - Deluxe Edition Endpaper Illustrations

For the deluxe editions of Stephanie Garber’s Once Upon a Broken Heart series, I created four original endpaper illustrations based on specific scenes from the books.

It was especially important to me that the characters Evangeline Fox & Jacks closely reflected their descriptions in the novels, while the overall visual language of the paintings took inspiration from the atmosphere and elegance of Old Master portraiture, particularly artists such as John Singer Sargent and Diego Velázquez. This combination allowed me to stay faithful to the world and characters of the books while interpreting them through my own traditional painting style.

Each illustration was created as a fully developed narrative painting, designed to capture a particular moment from the story and add another layer to the experience of the deluxe editions.

My publishing projects also extend beyond the finished artwork itself. I create process-focused illustration long and short form video content that document the traditional painting process behind each piece, from the early stages through to the final artwork.

These videos are shared across all my social platforms, including Instagram, where I have around 258,000 followers, TikTok with approximately 39,000 followers, and YouTube, where I have nearly 300,000 subscribers. My process videos frequently reach hundreds of thousands of views, with some performing virally across platforms.

For publishers and authors, this adds an additional promotional dimension to the collaboration, allowing readers and art lovers to experience the creation of the artwork itself while generating organic visibility and interest around the book and its special-edition illustrations.

See How My Artwork Translates Into Book Covers

Conceptual cover mock-ups using existing original artwork.

To help publishers and authors imagine how my artwork could translate into a finished book, I created a selection of cover mock-ups using existing paintings from my portfolio.

These concepts show how my figurative and narrative artwork can be adapted into different publishing formats, from richly illustrated fantasy covers to more elegant, character-focused designs.

The mock-ups are not existing publications, but visual examples of how my artwork could be incorporated into a future book cover or special-edition project.
