Freya, the powerful Norse goddess, is a force of both beauty and battle, love and destiny. She rides with the Valkyries, practices Seidr magic, and claims half of the fallen warriors for her own hall, Folkvangr.

In my painting, she is accompanied by a wild cat—one of the great felines that pull her chariot—symbolizing independence and untamed power. At her side stands a golden boar statue, a tribute to her sacred boar, Hildisvíni, representing strength and divine guidance. Gold, like Freya herself, is both radiant and enduring, reflecting her dual nature as both warrior and goddess of desire.
