Hypatia was a renowned Hellenistic Neoplatonist philosopher, mathematician, and astronomer who lived in Alexandria, Egypt, during the late 4th and early 5th centuries CE. Born around 360 CE and meeting a tragic end in 415 CE, she is remembered as one of the first women to make significant contributions to the fields of mathematics, astronomy, and philosophy. She was highly regarded for her teachings and was murdered by a Christian mob in 415 AD, which marked a significant point in the history of philosophical thought and the conflict between pagan and Christian ideologies in Alexandria
