Painted Parts shown in video: Golden Statue, Fishes, Moon, Pearl, Background
In this step-by-step video tutorial, I guide you through the whole process of my painting “Stella Maris”. I teach you how I painted golden objects with a straightforward technique that conveys the illusion of realistic metallic effects with watercolors and mixed media. You can apply this technique to every object that has metallic shimmer effects! I also teach you how to add depth to the elements of the composition. I also talk about my mixing process and in which order I paint everything to ensure a beautiful result. You can follow the whole tutorial to recreate the complete painting or you can paint single parts like the statue or fishes if you like. As always, you get my material list, sketch to print out, and reference photo!

Video Length: 1 h / real-time with step-by-step voiceover
Materials: Watercolors
In this watercolor lesson, I teach you how to paint a yellow-red rose with watercolors - This tutorial has a step-by-step narration. It is beginner-friendly, but intermediate and advanced artists can also learn from this lesson. The tutorial comes with a material list, my reference photo, and a sketch that you can print out in any size you want. I go through how I painted the entire painting, including the rose blossom, leaves, and the background with its abstraction effects which I created with metallic watercolors. (But you don’t need metallic paints to follow along) I recommend hot-pressed watercolor paper for this lesson and a few different-sized brushes. I mainly work with Trekkell, Himi, and Betty Hayways Brushes, but every other brand works as well! This tutorial is an excellent project if you have an hour of spare time or want to create a lovely spring-inspired painting for your home!
